| Radiance of Faith is a celebration collection of songs and poetry from the Golden Age of Medieval Spain from the Jewish, Arab and Christian faiths. The Hispano-Jewish songs are Sephardic and poetry Hebrew. The
Hispano-Arabic songs are sung in Arabic and the poetry given in English. The Hispano-Christian songs are from the 13th century songs of praise to Santa Maria. The CD is dedicated to the artistic and humanistic embrace of people of all faiths. Vocals and dulcimer (Lauren Pomerantz) and the medieval instrumentation is played by founding members of Ensemble Alcatraz: Peter Maund(percussion) Shira Kammen (vielle/rebec) Kit Higginson (psaltry/recorders). 8 page booklet with translations and recording notes. |
